Varney was founded by Walter Varney in Boise, Idaho. Thus, United Airlines makes the claim to be the oldest commercial airline in the United States by dint of its Varney acquisition. While the 787-10 Dreamliner won't change the passenger experience for United's Hawaii customers, it will give aviation enthusiasts a chance to fly the plane on a new domestic route for United.
